ELECTICAL QUANTITIES, FREQUENCY AND TIME INTERVAL LABORATORIES
The first sector to be opened and still one of the main field of activity of T.E.S.I.
With an overall built suface area of more than 1500 m² at Subbiano Headquarters, 500 m² at Milano laboratories, 100 m² at Timisoara laboratories, T.E.S.I. can host multiple laboratories for different metrological sectors to match the needs of the customers.

Here it is possible to generate continuous and alternating voltage up to 50 kVrms, current up to 5 kArms, measure voltage up to 100 kVpeak (160 kVimpulsive) and current up to 5 kArms, for the calibration of potential transformers (PT), current transformers (CT), surge and HV generators, dielectric strength testers, HV insulation meters.
In this laboratory, instruments for electrical safety measures are calibrated, such as line and ground loop impedance meters, differential tests, continuity meters of earth connections and equipotential connections, earth resistance, insulation, current dispersion, dielectric strength. An accredited certificate is issued for all.
In order to provide the widest offer of serives T.E.S.I. since many years performs calibration in the sectors of temperature, relative humidity, pressure, force, torque, length, speed to name a few: many of these sectors are accredited or under extension of the accreditation.
A sector where T.E.S.I. is present since many years and where it probably holds the Italian largest market share. A considerable effort has been devoted to he improvement and extension of the metrological capabilities, achieving one of the best accuracies among the Italian calibration centers. Early 2012 the laboratory has been accredited in optical power, attenuation and wavelength sectors.
Over the last years the spreading of small and medium size power plants based on renewable energies and the deregulation of the electrical energy market resulted in a growing demand of calibration of energy meters and measuring transformers: the verification can be done by accredited laboratories. T.E.S.I. was granted this accreditation since 2005. The availability of qualified people, of latest generation reference instruments, the experience gained in this sector guarantee a high level of service and reduced response time. During 2013 T.E.S.I. extended its accredited capabilities for ACCREDIA certification of active and reactive single phase and three phase energy counters. During 2017 T.E.S.I. enlarged its accredited capabilities to active and reactive single phase and three phase electrical power meters.
